for your photos.... Interesting about the bakelite bezel..... Are they as sensitive as the Rolex gtm Bakelite bezels? Thank you Best PP

Good question.

From what I saw, many 6542 have a destroyed ( or almost destroyed ) bakelite bezel, while you more often see bakelite bezels on the FFs in better condition. So yes, I'd say that the bezel on the 6542 is more sensible than on the FFs, but let's keep in min...

I looked.....

into it and discussed it also.... As you said a bakelite bezel is always fragile.... But the Rolex does seem a bit more sensitive as it is more rounded up and the steel "protector" Is thinner..... The Blancpain one is flater and the steel around is wider....

Thanks... :)

How can a couple of divers be so perfect on a roof? Beautiful duo, Nicolas! Imagine how lucky the seagulls in Italy must have been this summer! Best Blomman

How was it is to think that Crabs don't have the same luck..

 By: amanico : August 29th, 2010-14:20
While they are more legitimate than Seagulls... Strange that you don't have one in your collection... Best, my friend. Nicolas

And the golden rule is the doubt, here. In case of doubt, pass on it. But there are some secure FFs, my friend. Best, Nicolas

... that these shots were either done in the morning or late afternoon? My experience is with fine automobiles, and we always had the finest picture results at those 2 times of the day. May I ask iif that also applies to photos of timepieces?

Bingo, RR.

 By: amanico : August 31st, 2010-11:55
Early morning or late afternoon, depending on the family's agenda. For the reason you mentionned, the light! And yes, it also applies to timepieces, as a good light is crucial. Best, Nicolas

But I have more doubts on Luminova indexes. From some 20 years old watches, I didn't notice any change in the color of luminova. But, hey, maybe it takes more time, as the quality of our modern watches has also improved a lot! Best, Stefan. Nicolas
