If there ever was a punk rocker....
"Bitch" and "Sister Morphine" probably won't go down well either. Beg to differ, can't fleece a dog to make it behave in the house.
Black and Blue is the most recent album I revisit, but there's A LOT of rather significant stuff before Some Girls. Amongst their original material on the bluesy / R'n B side Turd on the run and Ventilator Blues, the latter in particular, ranks high in my opinion. But there are so many to pick from playing with various genres which they always made their own, hard to pick just a few. They even made the best disco song ever recorded 😎
They made me drift off to Blues, R'n B and jazz too. Ron Wood and Totta's, Rory Gallagher, and discovering the past as well, the great Americans and even Alexis Korner.
They were pretty much unique with ballads too, people seems stuck with Angie, but they were great at that from "Play with fire" to "Fool to cry".
Never seen them live, was too young when they recorded the stuff I'm affectionate about and I wanted to freeze that imagery as a teen/brat when I was pretty much a hardcore fan and liked the rebel aspect. Blue and Lonesome has to be my favourite from later years, and I quite like "Harlem Shuffle" (Bob & Earle), fun.
