My Leman recently returned from the US Service facility so I took a few photos to share with the forum.
I was struggling with the lighting, so the photos of the dial are not very good. However, I am pretty happy with the pictures of the movement.
I had admired the Leman series for a long time, yet never owned a Blancpain. Admittedly, my knowledge and experience with the Manufacturer was limited. Years ago I heard complaints of fragile movements and slow service times, so perhaps this played a role in my apprehension. After a long time of waiting, I decided to experience this company for myself, and draw my own conclusions. I purchased it from another enthusiast earlier this year.
So back to the Leman...While I love the Villeret line, the Leman always seemed to call my name. I could never quite put my finger on "what" was catching my eye...the case, dial, and hands are simple in appearance. The case size was not large or bold, actually somewhat understated and low key. There are plenty of alternatives and comparable models out there, but usually when something sings to you consistently for a few years, there is a good reason. After acquiring this watch from a fellow collector earlier this year, I now realize that the Leman does the little things so well. Every minor detail contributes to the total package, and perhaps this is the key to its beauty. I have to say, this also makes a very versatile timepiece.
The stepped bezel adds some character to the overall design. The applied markers are crafted with clean lines and crisp edges. Hands are nicely polished.... Needless to say, I am quite pleased with the overall quality. I really like all of the Leman models, it is a great design.
