I typically wear 40mm+ so perhaps this Blancpain only gets limited wrist time because of the size. Then again I was also 40 lbs lighter 10 years ago...it looks better on a skinnier wrist :-) Best, Mike

Neither dress nor sport, but I like the dial execution better than the more classical versions mostly because of the radial flip at "9". This watch always reminds me of the saying "They don't make them like they used to any more" :-) Certainly not at a fu...

The 2000 series of Blancpain always was an oddity (to use Oliver's words), an interlocutor between the (then) Villeret and the Léman collection. Case and dial had no orthologous in the brands collection. In fact, its automatic sister Ref. 1160 was my firs...

Got mine in Tokyo as well back in 2002/3. Not much info was available at that time but I did gather it was based on the non in-house pesaux movement and hesitated a bit. But in the end, I am glad I pulled the trigger. The quality workmanship is there for ...

It is a Wempe edition.....could not find much info back then and I recall it was not in the catalogue. SF

Wempe editions made in gold. IIRC the recognized Wempe editions were cased in stainless steel with a 7002 that had less elaborate finishing. Your movement appears to have similar finishing treatments like mine. Thanks for sharing a watch that is not suppo... 

I have a Wempe in SS and a 7002 with Breguet numerals in SS, and the movement in both is 100% identical to each other and to the Walt pictures on Ninanet. I have seen the Wempe edition believe it or not with both the less finished movement AND the high gr... 

my guess is that this is quite possible from what I recall. But weren't the Wempe watches fitted with a solid case back, or am I mixing them up with another LE? Best, Magnus

This is a great looking Blancpain Mike. The movement and dial are beautiful. I think the bracelet is a bit formal looking for my taste but for a dressy look, it works very well. I love the movement macro shot! Thanks for sharing Mike. cheers robin
