Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Act 3 released

 By: Richard M : September 23rd, 2023-19:12
Still processing this. “ The Manufacture is now offering a 555-piece limited-edition reinterpretation of the timepiece with its trademark moisture indicator. Faithful to its original 41.30 mm diameter, the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 3 is made of 9...

555? Why not 666?

 By: mdg : September 23rd, 2023-19:35
Now that would be a hell of a watch : )

 By: Richard M : September 23rd, 2023-19:36
Definitely a Revelation

Excellent suggestion!

 By: amanico : September 24th, 2023-08:11

Wow! What a beauty!

 By: patrick_y : September 23rd, 2023-19:36
I want one! Oops. I shouldn't say that publicly, I just killed my chances of ever getting one.

Ha!

 By: mdg : September 23rd, 2023-19:48
You're supposed to say, "I hate this watch! I wouldn't wear it if someone gave it to me!!" Then, you might have a chance : )

Right! Silly me!

I find the price hard to justify compared to the other limited editions from years past. Second hand market shows them at like 20k. I may just be too poor

I think it's pretty cool.

 By: Tim_M : September 23rd, 2023-20:00
Looks good, size is right, and its production volume makes it far more attainable than the other "70s" we've seen so far. I'm not a NATO fan, but that's easily swapped out. Also, I'm guessing this is the same 9K "bronze gold" that Omega launched on the Ch...

Wow that’s nice.

👍

Am I the only one who finds this unappealing?

My wallet remains safe

I'm with you

Too vintage for me. You could almost buy an original for the price if you want a historic look. The whole appeal of the modern FF is its interpretation as a modern piece. I'm certainly in the minority on this one though

Big ditto from me.

Some major QC issues being brought up on “the internet”.

 By: Lankysudanese : September 25th, 2023-07:45
I can’t name the source, but if this is what 32k usd gets you… ...

Now that’s a better one

 By: Derreck : September 23rd, 2023-21:35

I prefer this one, too. ;)

 By: amanico : September 23rd, 2023-22:19

I like it a lot, especially the simple design, including moisture indicator

 By: JohnFM : September 23rd, 2023-22:00
Not sure about the bronze gold, however. It does look rich and will not react to the skin the way bronze will. Would have preferred stainless, however, both in terms of appearance and price.

I like how they treated the movement

A nice hint to the past utilitarian one ...

+1!

 By: amanico : September 23rd, 2023-21:10
Here is the original one. ...

Attractive piece but as always it's priced outside many peoples value range for a Blancpain

 By: ifraher : September 23rd, 2023-21:50
I could never entertain this knowing how many interesting options there is out there for a much more rational outlay, seems very high.

Or the Bathyscape Chrono, on their excellent bracelet

 By: ifraher : September 23rd, 2023-22:16
A lot of watch for a half the asking for the above. Different proposition of course but there are some interesting options in the FF line, there's A LOT to choose from.

+1

This BP Act III looks wonderful.

 By: MTR : September 24th, 2023-05:31
Case (size and form), lugs, hands, bezel, the dial without date, the shape of the sapphire. The practicability of the watch (WR 30 bar - as always - and PR 100 hours). I like everything. As the owner of a RG cased FF with blue dial (the matt RG is very ha...

LOLLLL 😂

My AD is already informed and so I am looking forward to inspect this bronze version personally. Then I will make my final decision. ☺️

Hope I get to see it in the flesh, looks very promising

The pricing is a little ambitious though....

Looks almost like a cheap microbrand

By: Blue and White : September 24th, 2023-20:21
The third (Act 3) disappointment in a row. None matches the standard FF and it’s just a pity that BP keeps ignoring the calls from the market to offer a high quality unlimited edition in a smaller size.

You are of course right but …

By: Blue and White : September 25th, 2023-20:21
…my sentence is meant to be phrased as an “AND” clause whereby the request was for three conditions to be met at the same time: high quality, unlimited and smaller size. Two of the conditions are not met here.

$32,000 Gulp

 By: JohnFM : September 24th, 2023-22:36

Of the modern versions..

 By: Ted O : September 25th, 2023-15:01
I still think the Hodinkee Bathyscaphe looks best, just wish it was slightly larger. ...

BP NYC wants a full deposit!

Who is in?

This is a gorgeous watch 👏 sad that when a company like Blancpain does something right/gains some visibility

some articles(like 2! including a duplicate) try to ruin this nice moment with negative narratives. I hope that moderators do something about this, at least delete *duplicate" posts redirecting to an external blog.
