I am very surprised at the date of the patent since I had thought that Abraham Louis Breguet had created wrist watches with this feature during his lifetime. The Calabrese model uses the same indications with an apperture with the hours that is used to in...

due to the raised lines that form the arrow culminating in the hour window. From the arrow, the minutes can be "felt" - either to "discreetly" tell the time, or for the vision impaired. The hour was not "tactile" though... Regards, TM
