In honor to Bob Maloubier. Fifty Fathoms Roll Call?

Apr 22, 2015,14:23 PM

This gentleman, father of the Fifty Fathoms, passed away a few days ago.

We are some, here, to have met him during the Fifty Fathoms Exhibition, in Paris, in October 2010.

Bob, with Stefan Ciejka, and someone from Blancpain.

And two early FFs, two of his creatures, children, whatever you want to call it:

Show your FF, modern or vintage, it doesn't matter.

Goodbye, Bob Maloubier. Thanks for all, and for this unforgettable moment, spent in Paris.

Nicolas

Nico: I was there that evening on Place Vendome and was fortunate to spend several hours with Bob Maloubier hearing his stories of the quest to find a diving watch for the French Combat divers. And I was equally fortunate to spend many hours with Jean-Jac...

A sad news for sure...

... A hero and a legend of diving history is gone. I would have loved to be able to meet him and have a nice and interesting chat. I would also love to participate in this roll call in his honour, but regrettably I don´t own any FF... yet. You know Nicola...

RIP Bob.

The vintage pieces are a sight for sore eyes. Not only are they full of character but they represent an era when they were used for their intended purposes. I bring my modern piece to the water.. but no more than 10 ft. below at best. Cheers fernando ...
