Harrods and Jaeger-LeCoultre until June 1st

If you are in London, either living or visiting, then I heartedly recommend visiting Harrods while the Jaeger LeCoultre exhibition is on. (http://jlc.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-2/pi-5880383/ti-864153/s-0/). Combined with watchmaking Master Class, and an enamel Master Class, this is something for the enthusiast and collector alike. For the first time that I can remember, the Jaeger LeCoultre museum has come to London and in the exhibition are some real stellar pieces.

The whole exhibition kicked off this week with a pre-exhibition soiree for press and Harrods clients and I was able to go along. It is a rare thing to see so many of the recent innovative and brilliant pieces from the Manufacture all in one room. It is definitely worth a look. Some ‘camera-phone’ pictures (my apologies, but that was all I could carry into the exhibition area for security reasons) from the opening night:

Entrance to the exhibition is at door 9: the one on the corner of Brompton Road and Hans Road.

[The new Gyrotourbillon 3: surprisingly wearable on the wrist]

[The masters of spin: Gyro’s 1, 2, and 3]

[My favourite: the Gyrotourbillon 2 Reverso – this one the rose gold version. Despite its size and depth (from the requirement of the Reverso case) it is also surprisingly wearable on the wrist. While I prefer the white metal version, I have to admit that the rose gold version has more depth to the same design. The different colour metals across the different surfaces add further depth to the design].

Great to see such an exhibition in London and at such a prestigious store. Congrats to both Jaeger LeCoultre for 180 years, and to Harrods (the comparative youngster) who have been around for 179 years!! Yes, Antoine Le Coultre and Charles Henry Harrod kicked off their respective enterprises within a year of each other! It's taken that long to put on a joint exhibition!!

Enjoy!
