It takes more effort than normal spring bars

You have to press pins in and out. My Aqua Lung and my Half Hunter which have the same arrangement of lugs as your watch:

Leather

New OEM rubber-ized strap

Strap pins

The strap is actually a thin rubber coating on something (leather) inside

Long deploy ant

Strap is fitted exactly to the watch, then pins pushed in

Cheers,

Cazalea

Convert from X-71 to rubber strap?

 By: Tick Talk : July 8th, 2014-07:59
Hi Folks: looking for some advice on best method to convert from the X-71 bracelet on my 2585F Leman QP to a BP rubber strap with deployant or buckle. I've seen them on a croc strap but will the Leman rubber strap also fit? Can an AD simply swap them over...

It is not a big deal ...

and any strap with 20mm width should work, if we talk about Ref. 2585. Aligator, Barennia and also Rubber was available for the Leman cases and I guess you can order them at any Blancpain AD. The latter should do the change as some special tools & exp...

OK, thanks Oliver

do you still have the rubber band in the picture? I'd like to buy it. johnL@

I do have it but it has rotted out too

The natural rubber coating has just deteriorated while in the package and it is peeling off the base material at one end. I put it onto my watch when my original strap broke a couple months ago. So I'm looking for something new myself. Cazalea

Prices from AD

 By: Tick Talk : July 12th, 2014-17:22
I've found out from the closest AD that a rubber strap can be ordered at $345 and ss deployant for $1125, taxes included, in CDN dollars, 4-6 weeks delivery. Can anyone advise if US prices are different? I was also intrigued by the comment that the "rubbe...

some confusion on strap style

 By: Tick Talk : July 20th, 2014-10:57
the AD was informed by BP that a flat rubberized or croc strap was spec'd for the QP Leman, as shown in the pics Oliver posted. Can anyone confirm the rubber Aqua Lung-type strap with thick curved ends will also fit?

"rubber Aqua Lung-type strap"

I heard it is not available anymore, by a trusted source. They have something else instead, but I havenĀ“t seen it yet. Cordially, Oliver

Ahhh, good to know

Thanks again, Oliver

The new strap available ...

 By: small-luxury-world : August 6th, 2014-00:51
looks like this: It feels very good, is very comfortable and the "base" seems to be rubber. Me, like it! Oliver ...

Seems to have curved ends

but the textured finish doesn't suit my watch. Thanks for the pic :-)

To confirm, AD advises

the Aqua Lung curved-end rubber strap is NLA. The only straps offered for this case are the thin straight-end straps which I don't favor. Stays on the bracelet for now.
