Why not, my friend?!!!

Ok, the hot Vintage FFs are those you and me know and love, around 40 / 41 mm big, with or without Moisture Indicator at 6 o clock.

But there are some small FF which are worth some attention, and this one is one of them.

Blancpain Brevets... As you know, in 1953, Blancpain were the first ( or among the first, with the Rolex Submariner ) to create THE diving watch, the faithful timekeeper which set, at this moment, the milestone of our modern diving watches.

Bob Maloubier explained it veryt well during the exhibition.

Lip came one or two years later.

So is the link between Lip and Blancpain.

Now, this one is a Lip, with some of the solutions of the FF.

Some only, because, as you pointed it out, some others are missing, such as the dust cover.

Funny how the insert on this one of yours loooks like a TR 900 insert!

A lovely beast, my friend.

Best,

Nicolas

 By: DivingT : March 24th, 2012-13:46
Hi all, I supose the question really is, what brevets, or patents, belonging to Blancpain did LIP use with this mid size diver? We all know the connection between Blancpain and LIP in the early days of the Fifty Fathom. But what was it that allowed this m...

certainly...

As fas as the patent is involved, I would adventure that it has to do with the case and the fact that it is a diving watch. But I am sure that Nicolas will have the correct answer. Best regards, George

Interesting, I had thought about the operating mechanism / lock of the bezel, but not the insert style - we'll compare them next time I'm free in Paris. And I agree, it's not of beloved models, but well worth paying attention to! I actually find it quite ...

With great pleasure, Tony! [nt]

although mine has different hands. It's a lovely little watch - it also fits well on my beloved's wrist so she was happy for me to get it ;-) Vernon.

...yep, I can vouch for that too....

My wife has been known to wear mine too, when her watch is getting a battery change. Also, the little man (3 next month), also likes to but it on, when he wants to put a 'daddy watch' on! LOL! Do you have a photo of your one Vernon? cheers Tony
