My wife started to get into it by way of inheriting a tiffany, and falling for a vintage longines at liberty london. It took some time but eventually she narrowed down her daily, to a blancpain time only. Kind of mirrors my own progression.
Getting your wife into watches
I’m trying to make her a convert. Thinking of grabbing a steel sports watch that can be worn while running + relatively carefree as a starting point. How did you all do it?
I mean....
Being already 39 years old, a lot of rational women wouldn't even seriously date me when they come to learn I plan on spending $100+K on wristwatches.... And I'm not even a collector! 😇

My wife initially thought that the Chopard LUC Chrono One I got after my daughter was born was it. How mistaken can one get 🤦🏻♂️😂
She now shares most of the watches…
And still occasionally asks herself how I could have turned so bonkers 😂😂😂

I can take some time
but after 20 years of relationship, I am getting there. Last one was a small Bulgari Diagono full steel black dial. She gets nice comments about it, it is becoming a classic and is not so easy to come by. I bought hers in Japan second hand for a song
Just get her a very nice watch she likes and see whats she is doing with it over time .
Then you can figure out what kind of watch she will be daily wearing in the near future. Also think quartz 🫣
I have intentionally not encouraged my wife to get into watches
by encouraging her less expensive passion for handbags! ...
Tip - first buy her a nice quartz watch - you will both have more satisfaction if the first one is always running

I think having her acceptance is easier than having her borrow your watches.

I bought her Tag quartz, then Mont Blanc quartz more than a decades ago. And when she starts to go into brand when she mingle with her colleagues a few years back, along came Bvlgari, Rolex and Chanel watches… Hope the craze stop with Chanel.
