Agreed, FF 2007-present is classic to be
Aug 03, 2014,19:47 PM
Hi agyzas,
You make an excellent observation that captures the entire appeal of the modern FF. It's true to the basic aesthetic and adventurous spirit of the original, but it's identity owes nothing to the 1950's forebear. If there had been no Milspecs, LIPs, Tornek-Rayvilles, or No-Rads, the 2007-present FF would still be a contemporary, visually striking, and desirable watch entirely on its own terms.
The unique combination of artisan-grade high horology, fine finish, and everyday durability makes this an incredible package. Its case, bezel, and dial exude a premium vibe that I don't detect in any of the other staple entries of the diver class. The well-respected Rolexes feel solid, like military vessels; the FF feels solid and rich, in the same vein as a luxury yacht.
Hearing that Blancpain is finding a way to back their watches and their owners with top service is refreshing and encouraging. Too often, good experiences are taken for granted, and only complaints are expressed.
A Fifty Fathoms - the modern edition - is on my short list of non-JLCs that I'd love to own... hopefully, it won't be a long wait. Anyone who's considering one of these would do well to try an example in the flesh. The watch sits well on most wrist sizes (even mine!), and it actually looks *better* in person than in images. Photos can't quite capture the effect of the unique sapphire bezel.
Best,
Tim

I just received back from its first service in 6 years my FF and, as experienced before, Blancpain has done a top job (it remains the best experience compared to any other manufacture). As part of the service, I was provided a new strap, so I chose to go ...

and based on past service experience it lasts 4-5 months. Also this time, I was told it would be 4 months. But, I guess since the watch was in excellent condition, it only took two months. I would think it also depends on the complexity of the mechanism a...

because I do like to keep my watches as pristine as possible. In this case, the watch was as good as new, but thought that maybe it was time for some fresh lubricants : ) Have a great weekend and I do hope you will take the right decision! Alexandros

i really appreciate you replying to my question and for giving me some encouragement. the best encouragement however is that you sent it in after 6 years simply because you wanted to not because you needed to. it is very nice to have a watch one can rely ...

modern FFs so far, I have to say that I never faced any issues. They run perfectly, they seem unable to scratch thanks to the dome crystal and the domed bezel taking all the contacts, while the power reserve is very enjoyable since it allows you to rotate...
